3 people inspired me yesterday

July 29, in The Province newspaper, of all places. Rather than typing these into my computer, I’ll share them with you here.

Dr. Doug Clement, creator of the Vancouver Sun Run, is initiating a trail run (Burnaby Central Park, September 29) to celebrate Indigenous culture:

“On the one hand I feel confident, on the other hand I feel frightened, but if no one tries this it isn’t going to happen.”

Lulu Wang, director of The Farewell:

“When I went through the experience…I had no one to turn to and say, ‘This is crazy, this is wrong’, so I had to just spin around in my own head.”

James Cameron, director of Mission OceanX:

“But for every moment there’s a setback or challenge, there’s going to be that moment of discovery. You want to take the audience on that roller-coaster journey, because that’s what exploration is all about.”

Bio: Citizen activist on emerging eco-social crises and sustainable solutions. Over four decades I co-founded several community action groups and coalitions focused on energy: nuclear reactors, uranium mining, mega-dams, waste incinerators. I promote renewable alternatives. Today, electromagnetic weapons also threaten the survival of life on Earth. I propose a global coalition to petition the United Nations: to include military causes of climate crisis in the UN IPCC Reports; update the ENMOD treaty, and evaluate geomagnetic weapons.
